Thank you so much for joining us here!

We believe that New Ireland Province is the most beautiful and diverse of all the provinces in Papua New Guinea.

— “Few other places in PNG can boast such an interesting & accessible pick ‘n’ mix of nature, culture and landscapes.” Lonely Planet —

From our incredibly healthy reef systems, wrecks, big currents, schooling pelagics, uncrowded surf, white sandy beaches, palm tree lined islands and clear blue water, to our rainforest clad mountains, towering waterfalls, clear cooling rivers, cave systems, plateaus, rift valleys, giant eels, wondrous bird life and our ecologically diverse flora & fauna.

The richness & biodiversity of our province’s natural attractions, is only surpassed by our unique cultures, intricate customs, arts, traditions, history & celebrations, along with the warmth and natural hospitality of the people of New Ireland and the open arm with which they invite you into their village life.

New Ireland is an unmissable destination.

The New Ireland Tourism Authority (NITA) is an authority which was established by the New Ireland Tourism Authority Act of the Provincial Executive Council of the New Ireland Government in 2008.

It is the mission of NITA to provide strong industry leadership and effective provincial marketing, celebrating the culture, heritage, traditions and natural resources, and encouraging sustainable tourism based on best-practice principles for economic, environmental and social development.

We are here to support the improvement of existing tourism products, as well as the development of new tourism related businesses and infrastructure.

In reality, Tourism in New Ireland can be everyone’s business, as everyone can be involved and work together to create a sustainable and robust economy through Tourism.
